METEGHAN - Meteghan RCMP was called shortly before 9 a.m. on Oct. 22 regarding some kayakers who were lost in the Tusket River area.
The group of five had left from the Barrio Lake area the day before at 10 a.m. They stayed in a cabin that night and called for assistance the next morning.
An RCMP helicopter was used to assist with the search. The local ground search and rescue team was activated.
Two of the five kayakers walked out on their own while the remaining three were brought out by local volunteers. There were no injuries.
