The Municipality of Argyle has a new warden, Danny Muise having been chosen to fill the position vacated recently by Richard Donaldson.
Fellow council member Guy Surette succeeds Muise as Argyle’s deputy warden.
Muise and Surette assumed their new roles at a June 6 meeting of Argyle municipal council. They were selected by their fellow council members.
Muise is the council representative for the Municipality of Argyle’s District 1. He was first elected to council in 2012 and became deputy warden in 2016.
Surette is the councillor for District 4 and was first elected in 2008.
Donaldson, the councillor for District 6, was first elected in 1991 and is the longest-serving of the current Argyle councillors.
Donaldson had announced recently he was stepping down as warden due to the time commitment required of the position, although he would stay on as council member for District 6.
