Blast from the past: Season 2 of CBC series PURE filming in Windsor

WINDSOR, N.S. – Part of Windsor looks like it has gone back in time, with horse and buggies on the street and women wearing bonnets.

A portal to the past hasn’t been opened. Instead, the second season of TV show PURE has begun filming.

The TV drama is about Noah Funk, a new Mennonite pastor in town that’s determined to get rid of the community’s drug traffickers. But things don’t go exactly as planned.

The show, which premiered on CBC, recently won the best TV series at the Screen Nova Scotia Awards in Halifax. Rights for the show were sold to the US Super Channel and production is currently underway.

As filming progresses on Water Street, at the Pumpkin Park, some traffic may be slowed, blocked or rerouted.

PURE location manager Andrew Sheridan said the goal is to have as few traffic delays as possible.

Season one was also filmed in Windsor and the surrounding area. Other shows, including The Mist, have also used the region for filming certain scenes.
