WINDSOR, N.S. — The Windsor Rotary Club, with support from the Windsor Fire Department, spent much of Saturday collecting money and non-perishable food items from the motoring public.
The club held their annual toll road Oct. 21 near the intersection of Wentworth Road and Payzant Drive. Those travelling along the popular thoroughfare in town were asked to donate what they could to the Matthew 25 Windsor and District Food Bank.
In 2016, the group raised $7,500. Windsor Rotarian and firefighter Jonathan DeMont said he hoped they'd bring in about the same amount this year. They were collecting about $1,000 an hour.
