Girls choir performs annual spring concert

LIVERPOOL – Thirty girls’ voices blended together in song at the Zion United Church in Liverpool.

The Queens County Girls Choir, directed by Kristopher Snarby, held its annual spring concert from 7 to 9 p.m. June 10. In conjunction with the concert, local author Marcia Pierce Harding launched and read from her book, Secrets of Sable Island.

The choir opened the concert with three songs – Banks of Doon, Away from the Roll of the Sea, and Weep No More and Praise his Holy Name. Following that, there were some solo performances.

After Harding read from her new book, the choir ended the concert with a Mamma Mia medley.

The concert also included a silent auction to help the choir raise money. Snarby has been directing the choir for 16 years, and the uniforms are 20 years old, he told the audience.
