WHITE POINT – June 8 marks World Ocean’s Day, with hundreds of events planned around the world to celebrate our ocean. White Point Beach Resort is no exception.
Brush at the Beach is the finale in a 10-day World Oceans Week festival at White Point, says marketing manager Donna Hatt.
Participants are invited to join White Point artist Johanna Knopf of Fabulous Attic to literally paint buoys on the beach – or beside it. Guests will paint and sip a Nova Scotia libation while nibbling on a Taste of Nova Scotia treat outside, says Hatt. The artist has specifically selected the refreshments based on what she believes pairs best with the art.
Knopf will walk participants through the process of painting the buoys step-by-step, but Hatt says painters will get to add their own twist on the creation they’ll be taking home.
The brush at the beach event falls on the heels of a similar event held at the resort two years ago. At that time, organizers created Brush with Good Cheer as a unique experience for guests, giving them a chance to meet local Nova Scotian artists and to learn from them while painting with them, says Hatt.
“Around the same time, Taste of Nova Scotia was rolling out the Good Cheer Trail, so we married the two together to create our own twist on the PaintNite events,” says Hatt.
To register and reserve your seat in this sipping, savouring painting class call White Point at 1.800.565.5068 ext 1. Tickets are $49 plus tax and include all refreshments and supplies.
