ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, N.S. — As the days grow shorter, the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens slowly begin their transformation from a place of colour and beauty to a place of spooks and ghouls.

Some say the Gardens go from hauntingly beautiful to just plain haunting.

Once again, the Historic Gardens are getting ready for their annual Ghostly Gardens as a part of Ghost Town in Annapolis Royal. On the nights of Oct. 24, 25, and 26, and the afternoon of Oct. 27, the Gardens are unleashing their scary side mixed with a good dose of family fun.

Ghostly Gardens has some new twists and surprises every year but favourites like the Witch’s Lair, Musician’s Graveyard, and Elm Street Café are all ready to scare visitors for another year. During the ‘After Dark’ evenings, you can grab a lantern and make your way to the Ghostly Interpretive Centre where Young Company Productions has a live show featuring local performers. This is sure to be a fun performance.

New this year is a Sunday matinee designed to appeal to some of the younger members of the family. The matinee will have the regular ghouls who roam the Gardens by night but, daylight offers a less scary visiting opportunity for some children who are uncomfortable with darkness.

Ghostly Gardens after dark takes place Oct. 24, 25, 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Ghostly Gardens Sunday matinee is 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.exploreghosttown.com or at the door (441 St George Street, Annapolis Royal).

For more information visit www.exploreghosttown.com, email admin@historicgardens.com or call 902-532-7018.

Ghostly Gardens is a great time for the whole family. Be sure to visit… if you dare.
