COLDBROOK - There’s something about big rigs that never fails to draw a crowd.
Guests of all ages took advantage of the opportunity to check out a long line of service vehicles up close during the Touch a Truck event at the Coldbrook and District Lions Club June 3.
The display featured a wide range of demonstrations and vehicles, including a fire engine, Nova Scotia Power truck, waste collection truck, monster truck, tractor, working crane – and more.
Kids were eager to test out the horns, and guests were invited to nominate their favourite entry for a Children’s Choice prize.
The proceeds raised at Touch a Truck will benefit three charitable organizations that assist families and children: Campaign for Kids (supporting underprivileged children and youth in Kings County), Light 4 Learning (raising money for a variety of community needs such as solar light systems for schools, health centres in rural Uganda, East Africa) and the Coldbrook and District Lions Club (through the Boys and Girls Committee).
