It was a dreary way to kick off the outdoor season for the Kentville Farmers Market, but warm food, live music, and free cake kept the event alive and well.
Though the turnout at Centre Square on May 15 may have been less than anticipated on their opening afternoon, everyone present was making the best of the occasion. Town Crier Lloyd Smith stood alongside Mayor Sandra Snow as the two rang in the new season. As always, the performance was quite remarkable, with hints of hilarity throughout.
Hopes are high that the following Wednesday will bring more suitable weather for the event.
