BRIDGETOWN, NS - There is a new joint in Bridgetown thanks to Peter Pitoscia.

Pitoscia is no stranger to business ventures – or that location. Back in 1990, he opened R&R Sport Cards and Collectables at the same location. After that, for about 17 years, Pitoscia says it was called R&R Video. Following a five-year break, he is back in business and is calling the new venture R&R Collectables.

“A friend of mind said to call it The Joint then I said I like that, but I will call it R&R "Da Joint" Collectables,” explains Pitoscia.

Originally, Pitoscia had thought he would retire, but then decided against it.

“My tenants that I had in my building moved, so rather then keep it empty, I used the space for the new store,” he says.

R&R Da Joint Collectibles features trading cards, including unopened packs from 1970s, along with video games, dolls, albums and many other collectable items. Pitoscia says he also carries guitars and amps for beginners and novices and the odd sound system and lights gear.

Pitoscia says he loves seeing the reaction of the customers finding just the right treasure.

“It's like that feeling you get going into a candy store,” he says. “It brings people back in time.”

R&R Da Joint Collectables is located at 6 Rink Street in Bridgetown and open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday. In the fall, the shop will be opened on Saturdays, too, he adds.
