CLARENVILLE, N.L. — Clarenville’s St. Jude Hotel has been officially rebranded as a Quality Hotel. The change came earlier this month after a $2 million renovation.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, Feb. 19, director of franchise development for Choice Hotels Canada Graham Marsh says they’re thrilled to see this growth.
“Clarenville is a busy hub in Newfoundland and the hotel represents an important economic driver for the community,” said Marsh in the release.
The hotel was purchased by Clayton Hospitality last year, the company’s third property franchised from Choice Hotels Canada in the province — joining properties in St. John’s and Gander.
Renovations on the three-storey property took four-and-a-half months to complete, though doors were only closed for a one-week period during work on the common areas.
The hotel has 64 guestrooms, two meeting rooms with a total capacity of 150, a fitness centre and on-site restaurant, Bella’s Casual Dining. The property is located at 247 Trans-Canada Highway.
