Kentville Mayor Dave Corkum and councillor Mark Pearl, chairman of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, congratulated members of the Northeast Kings Education Centre senior boys hockey team by presenting them with certificates of recognition prior to the Wednesday, May 9 council session. The team won the 2007 Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 2 Senior Boys Hockey Championship recently in Barrington. Corkum said it was only two years ago that council recognized the team for the same reason. He congratulated all the stakeholders on what could be described as a Cinderella season for the team.
