Two local teams had a strong showing at the 2014 Annapolis Valley Taekwondo Challenge April 12 in Greenwood.

Wagner's Taekwondo club in Kentville took 18 competitors and brought back a total of 29 medals, including 14 gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals in sparring and board breaking.

Victory Taekwondo also travelled to Greenwood to participate in the championships. The 19 competitors brought home a total of 23 medals, including 10 gold, six silver and seven bronze in sparring and board breaking. The team will now travel to a tournament in New Brunswick on May 10, where the students will compete in both sparring and forms.
