WINDSOR, N.S. — King’s-Edgehill School and West Hants Middle School junior girls faced off on the basketball court recently for a high energy, fun game.
KES basketball coach Rory Campbell said the team has been busy with a lot of games on the go, but said he was really impressed with how they played.

The game was much closer than what the score revealed, Campbell said.
“WHMS is always a tough team and they are very well coached by Jody Isenor,” Campbell said. “I know they were missing one of their key players due to injury so they definitely battled hard without her.”
Campbell said Tyra Alleyne (of Barbados) and Sarah Hillborn (of Windsor) both played well in the post and Lily Gale (of Chester) managed the game nicely.
In the end though, it was two exceptional performances by Maya Faucher (of Windsor) and Gabby Strickey (of Falmouth) — both scoring 10 points — that made the difference.
Campbell said KES will continue to work on their game and hope to advance to the playoffs, but will enjoy the last few weeks of the season either way.
Isenor, the WHMS coach, said they struggled without their starting guard Lily Frost, who was out due to an ankle injury.
“This put a lot of pressure on our remaining guards, Rylee Fletcher, Shay Berkvens, and Paige Chambers,” Isenor said. “We struggled to finish around the hoop, after creating good scoring opportunities.”
Isenor said they are looking forward to a rematch with KES in early February at home.
