WINDSOR, N.S. — The Valley Maple Leafs will be taking home ice twice this weekend when they host the Antigonish Bulldogs and then the Cumberland County Blues.

The games will be held Oct. 20 and Oct. 22 at the Hants Exhibition Arena, which marks the first time the Valley squad has played in ‘the barn’ this season.

In previous play

The Valley Maple Leafs and Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates required extra time to decide a winner in their latest Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League contest.

On Oct. 1, the Leafs scored a 6-5 shoot-out win over the Pirates in Newport, but on Oct. 15, the Pirates gave up their lead only to win the game in overtime on a goal by Dawson MacLean.

The Pirates led 2-0 after the second period before the Leafs scored both of their goals in the third. Rookie Cody Burghardt scored, as did Isaac Bridge, for the Leafs.

Port Hawkesbury outshot the Leafs 33-29 including 4-1 in the overtime period. They are now 2-4-0-1 on the season for five points. The Leafs have a 4-3–1-0 record for nine points.

In earlier play, the Jr. Miners breeze by the Maple Leafs 9-4.
