Valley high school girls hockey regionals on in Middleton

MIDDLETON - The Middleton Regional High School girls hockey Monarchs picked up a 2-1 win over Horton in the opener for Division 2 Regionals this morning at the Middleton arena.

The game marked the beginning of a two-day tournament that includes Kings County teams Northeast Kings Education Centre, Horton, Central Kings, and West Kings; Yarmouth County teams Par-en-Bas and Yarmouth; and Annapolis County teams MRHS and Bridgetown Regional High.

Other games this morning saw NKEC against Par-en-Bas, and West Kings taking on Bridgetown. At 1 p.m. it's Central Kings against Yarmouth and at 2:20 p.m. Middleton against NKEC. Horton is back on the ice at 3:40 p.m. against Par-en-Bas and at 5 p.m. West Kings and Central Kings play. The final game of the day sees Bridgetown vs Yarmouth.

Tuesday's action picks up at 9 a.m. with Middleton and Par-en-Bas playing.
