Two Avon View Avalanche hockey players feted at awards banquet

BERWICK — The Valley High School Hockey League’s awards banquet was held April 7 in Berwick. Each of the 13 teams had two players nominated by their head coach as MVP or Coaches Award recipients.

The Avon View Avalanche recipients for 2014-15 were leading scorer Peter MacDougall, of Falmouth, and gritty defensive forward Luke Jillett.

Both MacDougall and Jillett were recipients of the Coaches Award.

MacDougall never missed a game and scored 15 goals and added 12 assists for 27 points, while Jillett, to go along with his outstanding defensive work up front all season, still connected for four goals and five assists for nine points in 24 regular season games.
