Three Barrington Ice Dogs make NS Junior C Hockey all-star team

BARRINGTON -Three Barrington Ice Dogs have been chosen after all-star voting for the Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League.

The all star selections have been made for the NS Junior C Hockey League.

 The following are the teams’ choices for the all-star:

1st Team

Goaltender - Logan Cottreau - Clare Lions

Defence - Josh Foote - Clare Lions

              - Brendan Turner - Truro MU Rhino Reno.

Forwards - Justin Mabe - Spryfield Attack

                - Tyler Quinlan - Barrington Ice Dogs

                - Aaron Crocker - Truro MU Rhino Reno.

 

2nd Team

Goaltender - Liam Cavanaugh - Avon River Rats

Defence - Cody Nickerson - Barrington Ice Dogs

              - Jared Murphy - Barrington Ice Dogs.

Forwards - Wesley Demone - Avon River Rats

                - Brandon Sullivan - Clare Lions

-       Frederic Jacob - Clare Lions.

It has been a rough season so far for the Barrington Sea Star Ice Dogs who have spent the first half of the season at the bottom of the standings for the league.

The Ice Dogs were last in the championship finals in 2013, which they lost to Chester. The Barrington team was a powerhouse in the past decade, winning provincial championships in 2009, 2006, 2005 and 2004.

The Ice Dogs next scheduled home game is Thursday, Jan. 8 against the Clare Lions.
