WINDSOR, N.S. — Children learning to skate through the Timbits Minor Sports Program entertained the crowd gathered to watch the last regular season home game of the Valley Maple Leafs recently.
The youngsters, with the assistance of a few Junior B hockey players, took to the ice in between periods to show off their skills in a fun, relaxed game.
The Timbits Minor Sports Program provides children aged four to nine the opportunity to learn a sport and play for fun. The focus is not on winning or losing. According to Tim Hortons' website, the company supports more than 30,000 children in Canada and the United States in sports such as hockey, soccer, ringette, lacrosse, softball and baseball.
