The Avon View Avalanche’s girls’ hockey team continues to play outstanding hockey.

They presently have a perfect 12-0-0-0 record in regular season play in the 2017-2018 Valley High School Girls’ Hockey League.

Their latest conquest was a 5-2 win over the 2-7-0-0 Horton Lady Griffins on Feb. 5 in Windsor.

The Avalanche scored all of its goals in the first two periods. Paige Parker and Amy Lloy connected in the first and Haley Verge, Zoey Rafuse and Savannah Hartt scored in the second period.

Ryan Jones scored the third period goals for Horton.

Lily Beamish recorded the win in nets for the Avalanche.

The Avalanche were set to play Feb. 9 in Bridgetown and will host Barrington on Feb. 12.

In order to go 18-0-0 on the season, they must win the remaining games: Feb. 17 (2:15 p.m.) in Barrington; Feb. 17 (7 p.m.) in Yarmouth; Feb. 18 (5:30 p.m.) in Middleton; and Feb. 19 (6 p.m.) in Windsor against the Park View Panthers.

The Avalanche girls’ hockey team will host the NSSAF Division 1 High School Girls Hockey Championship tournament in Brooklyn March 23-24.
