The Avalanche have a 12-5-1 record compared to Forest Heights and Northeast Kings, who stand at 12-1-1.
The Avalanche went up 1-0 after on a goal by Mitchell Singer Jan. 2. Forest Heights tied it mid-way through the second period before the Avalanche struck for a pair of power-play goals. Peter MacDougall and Joe Bishop scored those markers.
“It was nice to have one of top two scorers back in the line-up,” said the Avalanche’s head coach Mark Tye.
He was referring to Ben Davidson, who was out recuperating from a leg injury.
The team is still without the services of Adam Ferguson, who is recovering from a broken collarbone, which happened in Bridgetown in November.
"I thought our team has done a great job winning some close, lowing scoring games in their absence,” said Tye.
“Our team’s defence had been great. I believe that our goals against is one of the lowest in the league,” he noted.
Tye said he is pleased with the team’s effort and attitude and looks forward to when the Avalanche can play a game with the team’s full line up.
“I am looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish when we have all our guys going.”
William Earley and Kyle Pelligini have been solid goaltenders for the Avalanche this season.
