An Acadia line scored for Team Black during the Atlantic University Sport All Star game Nov, 8 in Fredericton, but it was Team White that took the win.
Axeman Mike Cazzola took a pass from Acadia teammates Brett Thompson to Liam Heelis during the second period to put Black up 2-0. Saint Mary’s Lucas Bloodoff had opened the scoring earlier in the period.
However, goals from Chris Desousa (UPEI), Chris Culligan (UNB) and two from Corey Tanaka (SMU) made it 4-2 for Team White through three periods.
Acadia’s Evan Mosher was in nets for Black during the second frame, making nine saves on 10 shots.
Also playing in the game were Acadia’s defencemen Christopher Owens and Cullen Morin, along with forward Joe Gaynor for a total of seven Axemen.
The game was a fundraiser and section camp for the AUS team that will represent Canada at the Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy, next month.
