The Acadia women’s hockey team will host the fifth and final Maritime Intercollegiate Women’s Hockey Challenge Cup tournament this weekend at Acadia Arena.
UNB, Cape Breton and Universite Ste. Anne will join the host Axewomen in the two-day, four-team event that doubles as the league championship.
Acadia is the defending MIWHL champion, having won last year’s Challenge Cup finale, also played in Wolfville.
Action is set to get underway at 4 p.m. March 25, with Acadia meeting Ste. Anne, followed by Cape Breton versus UNB at 5:15 p.m. There will be two more games that evening, with UNB and Acadia meeting at 7:45 p.m. and Ste. Anne versus Cape Breton at 9 p.m.
March 26, the round robin will wrap up with UNB playing Ste. Anne at 8 a.m. and Cape Breton against Acadia at 9:15 a.m., followed at 10:30 a.. by a skills competition.
The bronze-medal game is set for 1 p.m., with the championship game at 3 p.m. All are welcome to drop by Acadia Arena.
