Acadia Axemen start AUS hockey championship series Monday night

FREDERICTON - When the puck drops tonight at 7 p.m., the  Axemen will be fighting to repeat as Atlantic University Sport champions.

Acadia takes on the UNB Varsity Reds in a best-of-three series beginning March 2 on the road. To get there, the Axemen needed all five games of the semifinal series against Saint Mary's, finishing off the Huskies Feb. 26 in Wolfville with a 3-2 win.

Game 2 is set for 7 p.m. in Wolfville March 4. Game 3, if needed will be in Fredricton March 6.

Both teams will move on to the University Cup, along with host St. F.X. in Halifax beginning March 12.
