Digby's Eric Locke repeats at ACAA golf championships

MORELL - For the second year in a row, Eric Locke has won the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association golf championships by more than 12 strokes.

Locke, from Digby, plays for the Holland College Hurricane golf team and shot 69 Saturday and 70 on Sunday to finish five under at 139 at the ACAA championships at the Crowbush Cove golf course on PEI Oct.  4 and 5.

Teammate Luke Allen was thirteen strokes behind in second. In fact the top eight finishers were all from Holland College, giving the Hurricanes their ninth straight ACAA team golf title.

Koty Nesbitt, also of Digby, also plays for the Hurricanes and finished eighth shooting 80 and an 87.

Holland College’s top four golfers shot 596 and the top four for St. Thomas University players shot 698.

Hurricanes Locke, Allen, Brett Wilson, Justin Shanks and Neal Ryan will play in the CCAA national golf championships in Quebec City, Oct. 14 - 17 at the Club de Golf Lorette hosted by Champlain St. Lawrence.

Last year Locke finished eleventh at the CCAAs and the Hurricanes finished fifth.
