Ten-year-old Abigail Gloumeau isn't bothered a bit being the sole girl on the Atom team. Football is part of her family life.

The peewees improved to 4-0 on the season with a 37-6 win over the Halifax Argos Oct. 11 in Canning as part of Football Day in the Valley.

Riley Comeau led the Valley offence with a pair of touchdowns, while Caleb Donnelan and Ryan Sypher chipped in one touchdown apiece.

Owen MacRae was good on three converts and a field goal, and Comeau added a safety for two more points.

The Bulldogs’ defence was once again dominant, as it has been all season. The touchdown the defence allowed was only its second of the season so far, the team having scored 126 points in four games while allowing the opposition just 12.

The bantam Bulldogs made it a clean sweep on the day, scoring a 7-2 win over Halifax thanks to a strong effort by the defence, to improve to 2-2 on the season.

The atom Bulldogs improved to 3-1 on the season with the 11-0 win over Halifax.

Cam Henderson sold the only Bulldogs touchdown early in the game on a 40-yard touchdown run. Jacob Gerhardt added the extra point and also contributed a field goal later in the game.

Through four games, the atoms had scored 73 points and had 40 scored against.

Valley played strong team defence for the entire game, holding the Halifax squad without a point.  Connar Laird and Morgan van den Hoogen had interceptions.

Oct. 11 was Football Day in the Valley and Purolator representatives were at the field with a food bank fundraiser.
