Kings County teams begin high school football season

Boys' football kicked off over the weekend with all Kings County teams in action.

In the Central Kings- West Kings game Sept. 7, the Gators were triumphant in their season opener, downing the Wolverines 36-3 in D3 play.

Northeast Kings Education Centre won its opening match against visiting Avon View 38-9. Touchdowns for NKEC came from Allan Bond, Riley Misner and Jon Main. Hugo Couvert kicked for three extra points.

"The AV team played tough, physical and hard football," coach Reg Ogilvie said after the game. "Give this group a eyear of experience adn they are going to be a force to be reckoned with here in the Valley."

Horton lost 13-6 to Prince Andrew on the Acadia turf Sept. 6 in D1 play.
