The Avalanche did everything they could to tie the Sunday game, but it wasn’t in the cards.

As such, the Avalanche finished in third place in the standings, with a record of five wins and three losses. They were one win behind the Central Kings Gators, who finished at 6-2, and two behind the Titans, who were 7-1 on the season.

Sunday’s game was a hard fought battle with the teams tied 7-7 late in the fourth quarter before NKEC was able to put together a late scoring drive.

Darion Amos was able to push through and block the Titans attempt at scoring another point following the touchdown, keeping the score 13-7.

But, the Avalanche could not muster a late score and lost.

The Avalanche scored their only touchdown of the game on a deep throw by quarterback Devin Bryan to Tyler Eddy. Eugenio Rocco added the extra point.

Austin States, Jem Whidden, Amos, and Robbie Chase all played strong games on defense for the Avalanche.

Avon View is now preparing to play in a semi-final game Nov. 15 at Raymond Field in Wolfville.

The opening semi-final game will be between the 7-1 Titans and the 1-7 Dr. JH. Gillis Royals. The second semi-final will be between Central Kings and Avon View.  The winners of the two semi-final games will meet at Raymond Field on Nov. 21 for the NSSAF Division III Football Championship.
