The Avalanche closed out the regular season Sunday at Avon View, losing 21-0 to Central Kings. This loss came not long after a 38-15 defeat at the hands of Central Kings earlier this season.

In Sunday’s regular season finale, Justin Crossley carried the ball 10 times for 70 yards in rushing despite the loss. Jordan Card had 10 tackles on defence while he earned player of the game for Avon View with his strong line play.

Head Coach Jim Bryan also credited Ryan Hebb and Dylan Hennigar for their inspirational play, jumping into and playing positions they had never played before, with Hebb lining up at linebacker and Hennigar at corner defence.

The Avalanche were awaiting confirmation of the team’s playoff date with Central Kings as of this writing, but Bryan said despite being outscored 59-15 in the two games against Central Kings this year, if Avon View can continue to receive strong rushing from Crossley, the defence plays like it has at times this year and Austin Sabean isn’t hurried into throwing by the Central Kings defense, one never knows what might happen.
