Instead of splitting the July 20 doubleheader, the Rockies will be looking for two wins in St. Croix against the Nova Scotia Canada Games team.
July 11 saw the Rockies split a close twin-bill against the provincial team. The Rockies completed a comeback win in Game 1, winning 6-5, with a three-run home run by Matt Lyttle being key to the comeback. Curtis Broussard picked up the win and Dylan McCoul shouldered the loss.
Game 2 was an 8-7 comeback win in eight innings for the Nova Scotia Canada Games team, who will soon be leaving for Manitoba and the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
Liam Giffen had a big night at the plate for Team Nova Scotia, picking up both the game-tying RBI in the seventh and the game-winning RBI in the eighth.
Alex Anthony was the winning pitcher and the Rockies’ Lyttle suffered the loss.
The Rockies now find themselves in fifth place in the league standings with a 5-10 record. The Canada Games team has a record of 6-10.
Ahead of Team Nova Scotia are the first place Halifax PepperJacks, who are at 7-2, the Atlantic Heat Charros, who are at 10-4, and the Brookfield Elks, who are at 9-4.

Broussard continues his strong offense combined with his relief pitching for the Rockies. Broussard is hitting .500 on the season, going 14 for 28 in 11 games. He’s hit three home runs and drove in six runs.
Sean Croft is also at .500, going 12 for 24.
The Rockies presently have a team batting average of .281.
Schofield is 3-0 in pitching 20 innings. He has struck out 44 in four games.
The Rockies will be on the road for a couple of weeks after their July 20 twin-bill and will not return home until Aug. 24 for another twin-bill against Team Nova Scotia before closing out the regular season Aug. 31 at home against the Brookfield Elks.
