This summer, there will be junior teams in both Kentville and in Hantsport for under-21 players, but senior head coach Ian Mosher says the Wildcats aren’t affiliated with either of them.
With the Kentville and Hantsport juniors both new programs, Mosher has chosen, for this year anyway, to continue to affiliate with the Tri-County juniors.
This means Kentville will have access to players like Colby Turple, Alex Ostrov and Devin Boutilier, all of whom saw action in Kentville in 2013.
“I felt committed to the on-going relationship we have with Tri-County for at least one more year,” Mosher said. “At the end of this season, depending on how things go, we may have to revisit our affiliation going forward.”

Over the long term, he said he likes the idea of Kentville players playing in Kentville.
“At least until they get their feet under them, it serves no purpose for me to take players away from a Kentville junior team simply to make our team better – and in doing so, adversely affecting the continuing development of their program,” Mosher explained.
He said he has communicated that to both Derek Atwater, co-coach of the Kentville juniors, and to Jason Pleasant-Sampson, co-coach in Hantsport.
