Pilat pitched six innings Sunday afternoon in Hantsport as the Shamrocks won their ninth game of the season and moved into a second-place tie with the Noel Road Blue Jays.

Pilat nearly pitched a perfect game, only giving up one hit to a Kennetcook Braves player in the 10-0 Shamrocks win.

Pilat is now 3-0 on the season with a 0.35 ERA. He’s struck out 20 batters in the three complete games he has pitched.

Adrian Lloy went three for four to assist Hantsport offensively with a two-run single and a pair of doubles, one of which was also knocking in a run.

He is now hitting .359 on the season with 14 hits in 39 plate appearances.

Matt Lloy also drove in three runs with a two-run single and a sacrifice fly.

Sean Croft contributed a pair of singles and an RBI in the Shamrocks opening game 7-1 win over the Kennetcook Braves.

The Braves are now 3-12 on the season.

Croft and Adrian Lloy are tied for best team batting average on the Shamrocks, with Croft leading the team with 10 RBIs.

Mike King also connected for an RBI double and Deron Moores had a pair of base hits while also driving in two runs.

Moores, the Shamrocks spokesperson, said “the team has somewhat of a quirky schedule for the remainder for July” as they don’t travel at all. They host the expansion team, the Pictou County Royals, July 19 at 1 p.m and 3 p.m. and then host the Windsor Knights in a critical home doubleheader on July 26.

It’s anticipated the Noel Road Blue Jays and the Windsor Knights will conclude their four-game season schedule by playing three games this week.

The Knights were slated to travel to Noel Road July 15 for an evening bout. The Blue Jays were then set to return to Windsor July 19 for games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
