Shelburne County Reds split pair against Yarmouth

The Shelburne County Reds split two games with Yarmouth to open their Bantam “AA” exhibition baseball season.

On Tuesday at Sherose Island, the Reds dumped Yarmouth 7-3. Zack Nickerson and Connor Goodick pitched 3 innings each on the mound for the victors. Nickerson added a single at the plate.

The return matchup on Saturday in Yarmouth had the host Gateway’s nip the visiting Reds 10-9. Dawson Atkinson suffered the mound loss. Connor Goodick led the offence with a double and single, while Andy Bradley added two singles.

The Reds will be hosting their Bantam “AA” Invitational on June 21-22 in Shelburne. Also competing with the Reds will be Yarmouth, Dartmouth, Sydney, Windsor and the NS Bantam girls.
