Barrington Barons girls slo-pitch team brings home NSSAF provincial banner

BARRINGTON, N.S. – The Barrington Barons captured the NSSAF Division 3 Senior Girls Slo-pitch provincial championship on June 1 and 2, posting a 4-1 record to win the banner.

Eight teams competed in the two-division tournament, hosted by Forest Heights at the Hubbard Recreation Complex in Queensland. The Barons opened the tourney with a 10-8 win over Dalbrae. In game two, Barrington doubled the Cape Breton Highlands 12-6. East Antigonish handed the Barons an 11-9 loss in game three.

In semi-final action the Barons edged the defending provincial champions, Richmond, 11-10, going on to defeat Middleton in the championship game 17-7 in five innings for the title. The Barons also defeated Middleton for the Western Region slo-pitch title.
