Several local players are hitting the greens at Paragon Golf and Country Club for the Nova Scotia Junior Golf Provincials this week in Kingston.

Now known the Dartmouth Dodge Junior Championship, 100 juniors and 56 bantams will compete at the event, which hosts both the two-day bantam championship (under 15), and the four-day junior championship (U-19). The top 10 bantam-aged players will be allowed to continue on to day three of the junior championship before there is a cut after day three, narrowing the final field. Winners will be awarded in both male and female in the bantam U-15, juvenile U-17 and junior U-19 age categories.

The top three finishers in both the junior boys and junior girls will have the chance to represent the province at this year's national championships in Ontario.

Several local golfers have been identified as players to watch during this event, including Ken-Wo’s Heather McLean and Sara Cumby in the girls’ championship; Zack Forsythe in the boys’ championship; and Ken-Wo’s Meghan McLean and Paragon’s Elizabeth Furniss in the junior girls’.
