Karate Nova Scotia hands out annual award

The annual Karate Nova Scotia 2014 awards were recently handed out in Yarmouth. Here is a list of the local recipients.

Trysten Deveau of the Bushino Ki Karate Club in Clare was awarded the RICOH Sport Award for female athlete of the year, the Karate Nova Scotia Sportsmanship Award and the Karate Nova Scotia Junior Female Kumite Athlete of the Year.

Alex Comeau of Bushino Ki Club in Clare received the Rookie of the Year Award. His sister Sydney Comeau received the

Future Female Athlete of the Year Award.

From the Shoto Ryu Jutsu Karate Club in Yarmouth, Chris Churchill received the Club Contributor of the Year Award.

From Mukashi School of Karate in Yarmouth Dwayne Robicheau received several honours, including Club Contributor of the Year,

Senior Male Kata Athlete of the Year and Dojo Sensei of the Year.
