A brief reprieve from the long winter came just in time for Ski Martock.

Hundreds of spectators took advantage of the warm and sunny weather March 22 to take in the 28th annual Slush Cup, an event that marks the end of the season at the ski resort.

Seventy-five competitors between the ages of seven and 54 sped down one of Martock’s main slopes in hopes of gaining enough momentum to clear the 100-foot slush pit filled with murky, brown water situated at the bottom of the hill.

Some glided across the water with relative ease, others went for a polar bear dip.
