Bear River packed for greased pole, fireworks

Patrons of Bear River's Cherry Carnival had to wait until late in the day for the always-popular greased pole event -- high tide is a must and that didn't happen until supper time. But the lawn outside the fire hall was still crowded and there were numerous entries.

The canoe races took place just before the greased pole started, and entertainment was continuous across the street in the band shell.

There was also a silent auction, bingo, a dunk tank, a pig roast supper, cotton candy, tons of food, and of course the fireworks.
