Roseway Hospital ER will be closed for three shifts this month.

South West Health has issued a correction on the final ER shift closure for the month of June at Roseway Hospital.

The Emergency Department at the Roseway Hospital in Shelburne will be closed for three shifts in June. The Emergency Department will be closed:

Sunday, June 15, starting at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning

Saturday, June 21, starting at 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Monday, June 23, starting at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning

These closures are due to staffing shortages. South West Health apologized for any inconvenience these closures may cause.

Shelburne area residents requiring emergency services during the hours of closure should visit the nearest open Emergency Department or Collaborative Emergency Centre. Call first to ensure it is open.

People in the area were reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency; paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital.

In non-emergency situations, call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice. People experiencing a mental health issue can call the 24/7 mental health crisis line: 1-888-429-8167

Updated information on Emergency Department schedules and other news releases are on the South West Health website: www.swndha.nshealth.ca

This is insane, how do you close an emergency room, that's like saying the fire department is on vacation. What a crock!!!!!!!!
