The Digby Bantam Ravens captured the Annapolis Valley Minor Hockey Championship banner in Middleton on Sunday.

The Digby Bantam Ravens are golden after capturing the Annapolis Valley Minor Hockey Championship banner.
The Ravens battled for the gold against the Hants West Warriors coming out on top 4-1 in the championship final held in Middleton on Sunday.
Noah Titus scored two shorthanded goals less than a minute apart including the game winner.
Cody VanTassel opened the game with a goal midway through the first period and then put the game away with his second goal fired into the empty net near the end of the third.
Matthew Theriault, Tyler Bremner, Logan Bell-Meuse and Braden Trimper assisted on these four goals respectively.
Cody VanTassel received the Most Valuable Player award and Coach Les Trimper said every player contributed to the win.
“We pulled out a big win in the final game but it was a hard fought battle in a match that saw 18 penalties and four game misconducts handed out between the two teams,” Trimper said.
The Ravens reached the gold medal game with round robin wins over three other teams.
The Digby team defeated Berwick 8-5 in their first game, took down Middleton 11-4 in the second match and put away Hants West 3-1 in the third.
Along with winning the AVMHL championship the Ravens received the league banner for finishing 1st overall in the regular season play with 12 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie.
The Ravens consist of team members Braden Trimper, Kaylyn Meuse, Jacob Theriault, Cody VanTassel, Matthew Theriault, Tyler Bremner, Easton Addington, Logan Bell-Meuse, Noah Titus, Ethan Cook, Ethan Thomas, Corbin Beviss along with goalies Jacob Murphy and Jesse Robicheau.
Raven coaches are Jamie Bremner and Les Trimper with Cora Lee Bremner as manager.
