Two Kings County men charged following a robbery at gunpoint appeared in Kentville Provincial Court on Jan. 20.
One man has been remanded until a show cause hearing while the other man was released on a recognizance until a February plea date.
Anthony George Keddy, 20, of New Minas, is charged with using a firearm, a handgun, in robbing a woman of marijuana; assault causing bodily harm, using a firearm while committing the indictable offence of robbery, pointing a firearm, failing to comply with probation and failing to comply with an undertaking.
Adam Daniel MacDonald, 19, of North Kentville, is charged with using a firearm, a handgun, in robbing a woman of marijuana; assault causing bodily harm, using a firearm while committing the indictable offence of robbery and pointing a firearm.
The two were remanded in custody following an initial appearance in Windsor Provincial Court on Jan. 17. Both were present in Kentville court on Jan. 20. Keddy has been remanded in custody until Jan. 22, when he will appear for a show cause hearing. MacDonald has been released on a recognizance with a $3,000 surety. His matters have been adjourned to Feb. 3 for election and plea and to seek counsel.
RCMP arrested two Kings County men for robbery on Jan. 16 after two men entered a Lamont Road apartment and pointed a weapon at a woman. Police responded to a report of a robbery at the apartment at about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 15. The preliminary investigation indicated that two men entered the residence and pointed a handgun at the female resident.
A struggle ensued with one of the men and the victim was assaulted. The other suspect searched the residence and stole a quantity of marijuana. The two fled the scene. The victim suffered substantial injuries and was treated at hospital.
