Body of 58-year-old Allan Clayton found after Saturday night search
The body of 58-year-old Allan Clayton, of Parkers Cove, was found after a boating accident Saturday in the Bay of Fundy.
The Annapolis District RCMP is investigating the accident that they say occurred off Parkers Cove. Police received a call about the missing boater shortly after 8 p.m.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre was activated and a Canadian Coast Guard vessel was dispatched from Saint John. Police said the search was also assisted by a local coast guard auxiliary and a private fishing vessel.
"After several hours of searching, the boat and its operator were located," said RCMP. "A 58-year-old male from the area was pronounced dead at the scene."
At approximately 11:30 p.m., RCMP recovered the body of Allan Clayton, from Parkers Cove, Annapolis County. Clayton's body was recovered from the water near his boat.
The RCMP and the Medical Examiner's Office will continue to investigate, police said.
