Acadia University, Wolfville.
While there are no official figures yet, Acadia University enrolment is looking positive for this fall.
“It’s just where we want it,” said university spokesman Scott Roberts last week.
“We’re tracking numbers, but it looks like we’re where we expected,” he said.
There’s little question, Roberts said, that a visa slow down caused by a federal labour dispute will impact international student enrolment.
“We anticipate there may be a negative impact, but we really won’t know until a few weeks into the term.”
International students began arriving in Wolfville last week.
Last fall, Acadia’s enrolment stood at 4,254, marking the fourth year in a row of increases in enrolment. Approximately 1,500 students lived on campus.
Official enrolment figures will be released in October.
