Whopper burgers are coming to town. A Burger King is being built at 59 Starrs Rd., with a planned opening date on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Another Burger King is slated to open in Lunenburg.

New Minas, Amherst, Sydney and Truro have franchisees and there are several in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

At least 11 million guests visit Burger King restaurants daily around the world. Founded in 1954, it is the second largest fast food hamburger chain on the planet.

The menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, whopper burgers, rib sandwiches, buffalo chicken strips, sweet potato fries, mozzarella sticks, apple slices, hand-spun shakes, salads and a Counting Calories menu.

The number of employees to be hired is yet to be announced.

This is great as long as it does not become a hangout for the kind of people that hangout morning, noon, and night at McDonalds and Tim's already. Hopefully they will post table limits of 20 minutes, or at least have a decent and well enforced "no loitering" policy, One coffee between 4 people at a table is not called being a customer. Here's hoping, but some people will end up making this their own unfortunately, making it less appealing to others who are looking for a quiet and enjoyable less-rustic environment.

Fantastic, more top quality high paying jobs for Yarmouth. This is just what's needed to get us out of our slump.

That's just great, just another fast food joint in the area trying to make us all fat. There's too many fast food places.
