The Yarmouth Rural RCMP were investigating a fatal dirt bike collision that claimed the life of a 19-year-old man.
Shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, the Yarmouth Rural RCMP and Emergency Health Services responded to a single vehicle collision involving a dirt bike on Jeans Point Road in Brazil Lake, Yarmouth County. The RCMP say the preliminary investigation revealed that the man lost control of his dirt bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An RCMP collision re-constructionist was called to assist in the investigation.
The deceased was Logan James Dexter Bourque of Brazil Lake. His obituary described him as a loving family member and a best friend to everyone. He was to have attended classes at Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School in a few weeks. He loved to play soccer and was also involved in track and field. His obituary said he was a member of the 92 Chebogue Royal Sea Cadet Corps and a gifted artist. He loved sailing, hunting, reading, watching movies and playing guitar.
His funeral was to take place on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Wedgeport. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth SPCA, KidSport or to a charity of choice.
