The invitation has been extended to the mayor of Yarmouth and wardens from Clare, Argyle, Barrington and the municipality of Yarmouth for a meeting to discuss amalgamation and shared services.
The meeting has been called by Murray Goodwin, warden of the municipality of Yarmouth, and will take place the middle of September. Mayor Pam Mood reported on the upcoming meeting in her monthly report at council on Thursday, Aug. 8.
Councillor Ken Langille took issue with restricting the meeting to only mayors and wardens, pointing out some are new to their positions following last October’s election. He said amalgamation is a hot issue with constituents and he’d like councillors to be able to listen in on the discussions when staff and elected officials meet.
