Howard Andrews of Greenwood received a $1 million cheque on Aug. 9. - Submitted
Howard Andrews of Greenwood visited the Atlantic Lottery offices in Dartmouth to pick up a $1 million cheque, the top prize in the Aug. 3 Atlantic 49 draw, on Aug. 9.
He’s the second Nova Scotian to win Atlantic 49’s top prize this summer, after John Lewis and Jan MacKinnon of Amherst won the Atlantic 49 draw on June 29.
His ticket was an impulse buy, purchased during a quick lunch at the mall.
“It was one of the better lunches I’ve had,” Andrews says.
Andrews plans to buy a few essentials and a few perks.
“I’ve got to fix up my house. Some renovations, and a lot of things like that,” he said.
He's also thinking about a vehicle but it may not be the newest car in the lot - he’s got his sights set on an antique model.
