On Aug. 5 and Aug. 7, over 650 young people and their leaders from across Atlantic Canada will be participating in a food drive and clean up initiative that will include the Valley, Truro and the Halifax Regional Municipalities.
The initiative is part of an event called Tidal Impact, which is Canada’s largest youth mission program. It takes place every two years and involves a host church inviting a visiting church to participate in a week of service and ministry. This year, over 80 churches are participating in the Halifax and Valley areas.
The young people, ages 12-18, will distribute flyers and clean up litter on Aug. 5, then collect food on Aug. 7 for Feed Nova Scotia.
