413 Transport and Rescue Squadron at 14 Wing in Greenwood will conduct a Major Air Disaster (MAJAID) contingency training exercise in the vicinity of Granville, NS from March 24-26.

Residents of Granville and surrounding communities can expect to see increased RCAF aircraft activity operating in the area and Search and Rescue Technicians parachuting.  Residents are advised that these activities are part of carefully controlled training scenarios, and unless otherwise stated, do not constitute a response to an actual emergency.

This exercise is being conducted under all applicable Canadian Armed Forces training regulations to protect both the public and CAF members.  The squadron's ability to respond to actual SAR missions will not be impacted by this exercise.

Each training exercise strives to isolate specific sets of techniques which enable our operators to hone their abilities and reinforce their confidence in our procedures.
