Firefighters from the Island and Barrington Passage Volunteer Fire Department used the jaws of life to extricate a person from a single vehicle accident in Newellton on Tuesday. Two people were in the vehicle, one sustaining minor injuries and the other transported to hospital with serious injuries. Slippery road conditions were a factor in the crash. Emergency personnel were on the scene for about half hour, said RCMP Cpl. Timothy MacDonald.
